Cross-currents

Back to scheduled time, one and two-hour slices allotted to this or that project.

Of these, the hardest to structure: the student newspaper project. Several reasons to the difficulty: heavy involvement by the funding people, for one. A lot of their best intentions run at cross-purpose to the job they’re expecting me to do. Two: I’m not all that excited by the project in the first place and Three: neither are the students, most of whom have minimal interest in A) writing B) reading and C) anything to do with the big world out there. So the whole thing is like trying to grasp a big, floppy entity of the shape-shifting variety.

Back to school and to school assignments also means the draft gets shunted to occasional time –  when the energy’s petering out. Caution: Frustration, floundering, choppy seas and sandbars ahead. Making best possible use of.

Allez. Enthusiasm? At low tide. Lee’s River, I called it; my first venture into blogging in English. Anything from those days I can use as an energy supplement? Songs, maybe. A rhythm. Another view on the same old river.

The sky above the town: as clear as a clear blue bell again.
